July 2023 News & Updates

Well, Spring flew by!  We are officially open for the 2023 Season with a great staff in place…..Curator/Operations Manager Connie Spencer, Assistant Curator Jayne Ings and summer tour guides Annabelle Hodgson and Rory Bears.

Crazy amount of work and long hours putting together new exhibits, along with favorite permanent exhibits that were taken apart for the new flooring to go down.

2023 Exhibits

The 2023 exhibits are:

First Floor – The post office, Shipping, Mi’Kmaq, The Lobster Shanty, Rifles from 1780-WW1, 220th Anniversary of the Brudenell Pioneers

Second Floor – 150 years since PEI joined Confederation, Guess What it is?, Women’s Fashion from 1840’s – 1940’s, The old General Store and the one room schoolhouse.

Third Floor – Permanent exhibit of the caretakers apartment

We’re super proud of and in love with all of our exhibits at the Museum this season… but two of the biggest new ones are the Lobster Shanty and the woman’s fashion exhibit… pictured below.

We had a very successful opening day… with lots of people coming through along with the 105.5 summertime cruiser.  While we’re super excited that we were busy the whole day, none of us thought to take any photos.  LOL.. oops.

Perrins Villa

Had a blast talking to about 15 residents.  Gabbed about the Museum and took in a few artifacts for them to check out.  Looking forward to visiting them again in the fall.

Look for our float in the Montague Parade on July 29th…. We will also be open for FREE ADMISSION that day.
