The PEI to Nova Scotia ferry is a very familiar picture for residents and visitors alike, but have you ever wondered how people travelled to PEI before the ferry service or the Confederation Bridge? Especially in the winter? That’s where ice boats come into play and we have a wonderful history on these incredible durable boats, used as a means of travel to Prince Edward Island pre-1941.
